Per API 11P, average valve velocity
is calculated as follows:
Section 2.6.1
V= Valve velocity, ft/min
D= Piston displacement, cfm
A= Product of lift and valve opening
periphery, total for all valves in the cylinder
Velocities calculated by this
method should be treated as a general indication of valve performance.
